Chinese Garden Stools

with one comment

MissKnowItAll, my friend Lauren’s blog, did a pretty great job of picking out useful and beautiful pieces of furniture (see photo below) from Wisteria – my newly discovered and new favorite home furniture and decor site–the next best thing since discovering Calypso home.  What really caught my eye in her spread though were the Chinese garden stools in boxes #2 and #8.  I have been weaving in and out of Moroccan design stores in my hood searching for one of these, and lo and behold, they are available for the modest price of $129 on the Wisteria website.

My friend Nichola has a shiny cream stool by her bed that matches her comfy white bedding.  I also love the way the August 2010 edition of Town and Country shows a burgundy stool in a burgundy room.  Matching the stools to the room (or sheets, or the room’s focal point) seems like a great idea.  Check out Decor8blog for their extensive post on garden stools (a.k.a. check out their image which pairs a silver stool with leopard print pillows – so purtty).

Home Deco-Direct also has an extraordinary number of (more expensive and more elaborate) ceramic garden stools, as does Overstock.com.  Overstock’s collection, however, is predictably less varied but better priced.  Cobalt blue and white stools from Blissliving Home.
