Ladies of the Convention
The ladies of Democratic and Republic National Conventions have looked unbelievable these past few nights, charming the crowds with their speeches and style. And although the objectives of their speeches at the conventions have focused on introducing the candidates, emphasizing the candidates’ legislative records, and showing their husbands’ softer sides, I would have also liked to see the women introduce themselves and discuss their own accomplishments. Aside from being “Mom-in-Chief,” Janna Ryan is a graduate from Wellesley College and worked as a tax attorney and lobbyist; Jill Biden has earned two master’s degrees in English and a doctorate in education from the University of Delaware; and before becoming the First Lady, Michelle Obama graduated from Princeton University cum laude, earned her JD from Harvard, and worked in Big Law as an attorney. BOOM.
